RESETTLEMENT WORK
Only a quarter of prisoners have a paid job lined up for when they are released. Most newly released prisoners end up unemployed and claiming benefit, facing extreme difficulty finding a job.
Drug use on release from prison is very high - 77% of released prisoners admit to taking illegal drugs after they were set free.

Pioneering projects
When someone is released from prison, they are often scared, disoriented, and far from home. Without support and help, they can find it very difficult to build a new life free from crime. Research shows that prisoners are much less likely to re-offend if they have a home, a job, and family and friends to return to.
At pact, we deliver pioneering projects aimed at helping prisoners reintegrate - or 'resettle' - back into the community after being released.
Basic Caring Communities (BaCC) is a new initiative offering support to ex-prisoners in Wandsworth, South London. Find out more about BaCC
