WHAT WE DO
The Prison Advice & Care Trust (pact) delivers a range of services for prisoners and their families.
- Visitors' centres are based outside the prison gates. They offer child-friendly facilities, information, advice and support for families and friends visiting prisoners
- pact provides supervised children's play services inside many prison visits halls, offering children toys, games and creative activities
- Our 'My Visit' booklet for children helps demystify the experience of visiting mum or dad in prison
- pact's innovative First Night in Custody service seeks to reduce the anxiety felt by prisoners on their first night inside, and to lessen the possibility of self-harm and suicide
- pact lunch catering services operate at a number of prisons
- Our Basic Caring Communities initiative helps ex-prisoners find their feet again in the local community
- our Kinship Care Support Service provides support at Holloway and Wormwood Scrubs Prisons for relatives who are left caring for a prisoner's children
- JustPeople is our volunteering ‘one-stop-shop’ for the criminal justice system. The JustPeople team recruits, trains, and vets volunteers, and allocates them to organisations that work within the criminal justice system in Devon and Cornwall
