Brand new animation: A Journey into Prison We are delighted to announce the release our brand new animation today, which explains the journey of someone going to prison, from arrest to release, in a simple, accessible, easy to understand way. The animation, which was created for children and young people who have a loved one in prison/going through the criminal justice system, adds to our series of short animated films and digital resources for children and young people, and provides another useful tool for adults, carers/parents, professionals working with children who would like to support a child in learning more about what imprisonment means in a caring, comfortable and clear way. The film marks the start of a new series of animations that we will be releasing over the coming months, which bring to life the contents from our new book, Locked Out - a book for children with a loved one in prison, which was released earlier this year. You can read and download the book (in English and Welsh) for free on the web page, or if you would like to request a copy, please email us on [email protected]. If you would like any information, emotional support or practical guidance on talking to a child about imprisonment, or have any queries or concerns about a loved one in prison, you can call our Helpline for free, Monday-Friday between 10am-5pm on 0808 808 3444. You can email our helpline on [email protected] or you can contact us via our webform. For information about visiting someone in prison, check out our Digital Visitors' Guides and Interactive Map which has custom visiting information on a select number of prisons.
