Bukky Orowole What is your role? I am the Finance Officer based in our central office. Describe your Pact journey so far? I have always worked in accounts but was attracted to this job because I wanted to work in the charity sector; in particular, I was keen to learn more about charity finance. I also really believe in what we do as a charity, and admire the work done by my colleagues on the front line. In this role I have grown and developed through close working with my line manager, and from attending training and seminars. In the last six months I have got involved in processing the payroll, and I’m really pleased to have developed new skills and knowledge in this area. What does a typical day at work look like for you? I would say no two days are the same in Pact. I have a really busy role but I really enjoy juggling the different tasks that make up my job. I can be processing suppliers’ payments or customer invoices, or helping chase up debtors or doing the banking. I now get more involved in processing the payroll. I’m eager to learn more new tasks relating to charity finance. What is the best thing about working at Pact? I really mean it when I say that I like working at Pact because people here are really valued. In some places they say we value people but here it’s true. I feel very supported by my line manager and the Finance Director, and I feel we work really well together as a finance team. What are you most proud of achieving at Pact? Being able to contribute to the success of the Finance department, and in turn, the success of Pact.
