Watch the Holy Mass for Christmas, celebrated for the women and men in prison this year

We understand that Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for people who are separated from their loved ones by imprisonment. The COVID-19 pandemic has made this Christmas even more difficult than most. Many people will not have the opportunity to see their friends and family during the festive season, or to mark Christmas in the ways they normally would - including going to a faith service.

We are therefore pleased to be able to share two very special recordings of faith services produced specifically for people in prison at this time of year.

The first is a Sunday service first broadcast on National Prison Radio on 6th December 2020. The service, presented and curated by Andy Keen-Downs, Pact's CEO, features uplifting music, Gospel readings and insightful contributions from David Lammy MP and Anne Fox, CEO of Clinks. The reflection (homily) is given by the Right Reverend Peter Brignall, Bishop of Wrexham and prison chaplain at HMP Berwyn. You can listen to it in full here.

We are also delighted to share a video of the Holy Mass for Christmas, celebrated for the women and men in prison this year, also given by the Right Reverend Peter Brignall, Bishop of Wrexham. This Christmas Mass has been recorded in advance and will be broadcast into prison cells on Christmas Day. You can watch the Mass in full below:

We hope that the opportunity to watch or listen to these services will bring some consolation to people of faith who have a loved one in prison this year.
